E-Mail distribution acquired by WordMark, product is now Internet ready

November 11, 1996, (Veterans Day), San Jose, California. The most popular and fully featured E-Mail system for the multi- valued market is now exclusively distributed by WordMark. E- Mail, formerly known as "E-Mail for Pick" developed by Weaver Consulting, is now available for UniVerse and UniData as well as all Pick platforms. WordMark will immediately market the product on a global basis. All production and support services will be routed to WordMark Technical Services.

"Now, I can focus my efforts on technical issues and enhancing the product for many years to come," said Dave Weaver, founder of Weaver Consulting and author of E-Mail. Dave continues, "WordMark is a professional organization in our market with extensive distribution channels and we're pleased they're representing the E-Mail product."

Gwen Justis, the WordMark executive assigned to the E-Mail marketing team which will launch the product line says, "We're excited to offer a well respected product through our marketing channels." "Our market research indicated very satisfied users of the product, in fact, there was not one single dissatisfied customer." She continues, "With the upcoming Version 5 of E- Mail, there is an Internet connectivity capability that users should find very helpful." E-Mail, Version 5 will include an Internet API whereby UniVerse, UniData and Pick users will be able to access the Internet without leaving their application environment.

The E-Mail API (Application Programming Interface) was designed to build Internet ready E-Mail files that allow third party software developers to process them through their existing Internet mail packages. In addition to being Internet ready, users now have the capability to interface with UNIX mail, LAN based email systems, Microsoft Mail or their internally developed email system.

Ms. Justis adds, "We intend to inform the UniVerse and UniData customers of this valuable Intranet tool." She continues, "Not having to leave the UniVerse or UniData environment to send a message or a document from their terminal should drastically improve productivity." This is the first multi-valued E-Mail product to allow internal (Intranet) communications combined with Internet communications.

E-Mail Version 5 for UniVerse, UniData, Pick and all Pick like platforms including Prime Information, is expected to ship by the end of this year. It includes an Internet API as well as various enhancements such as Site to Site connectivity, a Chat feature, an enhanced system configuration utility, upgraded security and redesigned menu layouts to accommodate the new features. There is also an optional Phone Message Center and Calendar Management System.

The upgrade to Version 5 for existing users is free as long as an Annual Maintenance Contract is in place. Most Maintenance Contracts are valued at only $299 per year. Additionally, Technical Services are only available with the Annual Maintenance commitment. Nancy Dailey, WordMark Director of Technical Services indicates, "We're welcoming the 60,000 plus E-Mail users aboard." She continues, "We're ready to respond to their technical issues as a standard WordMark supported product." Ms. Dailey adds, "However, we can only assist those customers that are on the maintenance program, per incident services are not available."

E-Mail for UniVerse, UniData and Pick is available for only $995 for a 24 user license. Additional mailboxes are only $25 each. A starter package is available at $495 for a 3 user system. Dealer inquiries are welcome.
